FSP 03:16
Who turns the life support off in my stateroom? Who switched my solid waste chute to reverse? Who treats my spacesuit as their private bathroom? Who always answers a smile with a curse? Who doubles gravity when I am riding? Who changed the sex of my synthetic friend? Who likes a little too much probing inside? These little fuckers must come to an end. Who switches all of the ions to ioff? Who changes all of my charm quarks to strange? Who puts the dead flies in my vegan fruitcake? Who likes to leave all the little brown stains? Who gave me laxative before my space walk? Who spiked my morning tea with THC? Who likes to drill little holes in the airlock? Whose favourite hobby is proctoscopy?

Star Signs 04:34
Counting the days, do you know how many ways you can kill time? Time's killing you, nothing else that you can do with your lifeline? I watch you, you watch me. Who else do you want to be? Counting the days, is it just a passing phase or for all time? Time to declare your intention to despair - I see the signs. I know you, you know me. Who else do you want to be? Counting the days until consciousness is raised to a new state. The end of time leads all souls to realign with our one fate. I am you, you are me. Who else can we even be?

Who will be your saviour? Who will be your friend? When your sun's light wavers, Your world come to end. Chorus: Yes, they will come. Heroes of the Dying Sun, Will go to war with energies, Like you've never seen before. When the ghosts of your past, Call you from the gloom, Your forgotten outcasts, Dealing cards of doom. Chorus Will you stand and follow, Heroes as they fight? Warriors of Apollo, Fearless in the night. Heroes of the dying sun, Pass through twelve gateways to the core. Rejecting rest in verdant pasture, They live their lives as knights of yore. Who will be your saviour? Who will be your friend? When your sun's light wavers, Your world come to end.

Oubliette 05:03
I've got a special car in my garage, it can even drive itself. I've got a little probe for my insides, guarantees me perfect health. I've got a brand new AI computer, makes the decisions in my life. I've got synthetic friends in my bedroom, come and meet my silicone wife. I've got a lot of free time to think now, worry about things I don't understand. I've got to lie in my bed till I stink, cause nobody works in our new promised land. I've got a lot of friends who are like me, though I have never met one yet. I've got a life through the mirror of high tec, I live in a cyber oubliette. Somebody still needs to grow the mushrooms, Somebody still needs to make the tea. Somebody still needs to clean the bathroom, Somebody still needs to set you free!

Timestorms 06:01
I'm sailing through the storms of time. My state of mind is not what it used to be. I'm straining to hold the wheel. Emotions steal what little sense I used to have. Timestorms drive me screaming into walls of stone. Timestorms drive me reeling into minds unknown. But as long as I know I can be, Sitting with a cup of tea, Thinking of what is to come, When all ties have been undone. [Repeat] Batten the hatches down, Don't let them drive you aground.

I am the child of the Aviator, Came to Earth from a distant sun, A very private investigator, Who never knew what he had begun. He had an orgone accumulator. He had a wicked sense of fun. He was a punchy little instigator, Who scored a hit with his needle gun. But the sun will set and the moon will rise. Who do you see behind my eyes? Now I live as an Astrogator. I have no world that I can call home. Never knowing the originator, Across dark oceans I must roam. Brother, sister, revelator, Tell me now I am not alone. We can ride Star Elevator. Just a cosmic stepping stone. But the sun will set and the moon will rise. Who do you see behind my eyes? But all suns must set and all moons must rise. Who do you see behind my eyes?

Vortex Found 09:06
Looking out we found the Vortex, Flashing X-rays to hypnotise. Gravity waves would tempt us all, Our need to idolise. So we set sell upon the waves, Ship filled with dormant life. We sailed for aeons of tedium, A chosen few remained awake, But when the Vortex laughed at us, We knew we were betrayed. The darkness drove us to the void, But we were not afraid. When there's not time or space to be, How can we know what's even real, Or what the hell is reality? Perhaps we simply dream. For somehow I can see, All there has ever been, From the forbidden tree, To the birth of this infernal machine. So we trust in our technology, We know it's all we have left. Our dreams have all been blown away, Leaving us broken, bruised and bereft. Our ship still rides the gravity waves, And we have surely passed the test. We survive this singular fall. Returning to space and time we coalesce. We find ourselves lost in space, These stars a mystery. What had our pride repaid us, What hollow victory? Would folly seal our fate, To ride the waves for eternity? The loneliness froze our hearts, But we must set our sights, On a new hope that we have found. Someone out there has shone the light, To guide us home at last, And end this cursed flight.

During the Great Galactic Pandemic, the Captain, living in a Bristol cider den with the famous Old Rosie, fused Space Rock with his own twisted imagination and in a frantic single orbit of Selene he produced an infeasible quantity of music which forms the basis of the first Gravity Wave Riders album.

As the Overlords permitted social intercourse once again he drew together his trusted crew to build on this material and added even more songs describing their lonely journeys through the universe. Plagued by Space Pixies, reading the Star Signs to navigate through treacherous Time Storms they came from Space to Earth for you.

about

Gravity Wave Riders Bristol, UK

Space Rock!
Of all the Planets, in all the Solar Systems, in all the Universe we fell into yours!

The Gravity Wave Riders wandered the Universe, barely surviving by playing the odd gig in seedy spaceport clubs they found themselves stranded on Earth during the intergalactic pandemic. In a time of social and sonic degeneration they have resolved to bring joy to all in the form of Space Rock.
